Welcome As your child enters kindergarten, both you and I have great expectations for their achievement and potential for growth. So may we work together on this journey in order to help them reach their full potential.
Meet Mrs. Jacobson My own Kindergarten experience left a lasting impression on me. I enjoyed spending time with, Mrs. McCann. We sang songs, played with toys, and created many art projects. I knew from this early age that this is what I wanted to do when I grew up.
I babysat for many families while growing up. I enjoyed their enthusiasm and great sense of imagination for life through the art of play.
After graduating from UW-Whitewater, I taught for one year as a SAGE teacher in the Beloit School District. I then moved on to Powers Elementary in taking a first grade position. This would be a unique position in which I would follow this class of students on up throughout grade levels. After finalizing grade 2 with these students, a Kindergarten position opened up and I am happy to say I have been in this position from that point.
I've had the privilege of working with many amazing teachers and families. They have inspired me to continue my own education and you will often find me taking classes or tackling new projects in the classroom. I happily earned my master's degree in education from UW-La Crosse in 2010.
When I am not at school you will most likely find me hanging out with my family. I have two beautiful children, a son Carston and a daughter Natalie. They both keep me on my toes with their outgoing personalities! We enjoy turtle island, riding bikes and baseball.
Kindergarten has changed a lot since the days when I attended elementary school. Please see the following pages for ideas on how to help your child grow. The Kindergarten year is full of experiences where play and learning go hand and hand.
